Nano-Enterprise Support (NES): Helping Youth, Women and Farmers Start Small Businesses

Nano-Enterprise Support (NES) is Cosmo People Foundation’s program that helps youth, women and farmers in Nashik start and grow very small businesses. It combines vocational training with incubation, so people can turn a skill into a steady income.
What is a nano-enterprise?
A nano-enterprise is a very small business, often run by one person or one family, with little money invested. It might be a tailoring unit, a home kitchen, a farm-produce stall or a small repair service. These businesses are small, but they put food on the table and keep money in the local community.
Why small businesses matter
For many families, self-employment is the most realistic path to a steady income. But women, young people and farmers often face the same barriers: limited training, little money to start, and no easy way to reach customers. NES works on exactly these gaps.
What NES does
Following the objectives in our Memorandum of Association, NES runs vocational training, livelihood generation and entrepreneurship development programs. The aim is employability, economic independence and self-reliance, and the creation of small businesses among youth, women, farmers and disadvantaged communities.
- Training: practical skills that people can use to earn.
- Incubation: support while a new business takes its first steps.
- Livelihood focus: every activity is judged by whether it helps people earn.
[Add 2–3 real details: who is eligible, how long the training lasts, where sessions are held, and what support participants receive.]
Who NES is for
NES is for young people looking for their first source of income, women who want to earn from home or build a business, farmers who want an additional livelihood, and people from disadvantaged communities in Nashik and nearby areas.
Our impact in numbers
Since 2016, including work done before the Foundation was registered in 2026, 7,200+ people have engaged in our nano-enterprise programs, and 1,200+ nano-enterprises have been impacted.
Five tips for starting a small business
